The students in the College Bound Club (CBC) continue to inquire about college. Recently, the students (including some of our 8th Graders) attended College Night at the TCC on October 5th. The students met with representatives from Duke, Notre Dame, University of Arizona and many more. The students were excited to have the opportunity to get information from the universities they were interested in.

The College Bound Club emphasizes the importance of volunteering. I will be coordinating a community service event for the students towards the middle of December. I would like to encourage our staff, parents and students to attend. If the event is large enough, I would also extend the invitation to MASSA to join us as well. I will provide details very soon.

This month students have an opportunity to win a $25 iTunes gift card for designing the CBC logo. This is the first of many "mock scholarships" for the students.

Next month, we will begin our financial classes. These sessions will include how to pay for college, how to apply for financial aid, scholarships and grants, etc. In addition, we will be introducing topics on finding jobs, interviewing and how to dress professionally.
