Week of April 9-13, 2012Hello Everyone, Since we worked so hard on homework for the last two weeks, this week will be much more relaxed. There are no spelling packets. Nonetheless, your student will have his/her reading logs to complete. Otherwise, there will be very little other homework. This is due to AIMS review. We will be having a science test on Friday and your student will need to be studying for that. I will be sending home a study guide for that test. The study guide needs to come back to class daily, as we will be spending time each day reviewing for the test. We will be taking a practice AIMS test this week to help your student see what the test looks like and what they can expect with scheduling. This is a good time to ask questions that they cannot ask during the official test. I anticipate that it will help your child be less stressed about the actual test. Please emphasize with your child the importance of taking his or her time, reading each question carefully, and, most importantly "breathing off stress". I know they can do well on this test. Let them know how smart they are when they work hard. I appreciate all you have done to make your student a success. I feel that, overall, we are ready for the AIMS test. Your children are great to work with! I love seeing their eyes sparkle when they learn new concepts and get excited about what they are learning. Thank you for your help and for the opportunity to work with your child.
Sincerely, Ms. Williams
Week of April 2-6, 2012
Dear Parents/Guardians, We are really gearing up for AIMS Testing the week of April 16th - 20th. I feel confident that your child will be prepared to do well on this test. We will be doing many reviews of third grade material over the next two weeks. The homework your student will be doing will also help him or her be more prepared. Your help with going over any concepts he or she may not understand will be greatly appreciated. You make such a great difference in your child's education, THANK YOU! It is imperative that your student do his or her homework and get plenty of sleep as well as adequate and healthy food. I would like to thank you all for any and all donations you have sent into our classroom. Nonetheless, during testing week, we will be needing more of your help with providing healthy snacks. Some good examples are: Granola Bars (without too much chocolate) Fruit Fruit snacks Pretzels Goldfish crackers and cheese We are will also be needing some extra #2 pencils that have been sharpened. Again, I would like to thank you for all that you do!
