AMS Math Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition Winners

This spring, the Academy of Math and Science participated in the Math Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition engaging in thought-provoking questions stemming from algebra, geometry, and logic.  Five million students from more than forty countries throughout the world participate in this competition annually. The competition consists of both individual and team math tests for students in 5th to 12th grades.

The Academy of Math and Science was notified on May 11, 2011 that of all the top math  students in the state of Arizona who took part in the Math Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition, and out of the total of 41 State of Arizona award winners, six of our students qualified to receive a state and/or national award. Ian Cutlip, Brieanne Fessler, Amanda Keen, Brian Lash, Dan Marcus, and Jared Simpson earned a State or National Math Kangaroo Award.  Congratulations, students!
The ceremony for the award winners from Arizona will be held at the Scottsdale Hilton on Saturday, May 21 at 5:45pm.
